Interior Design

At Twelve, we are praised for many things, but we hear unending sparkling feedback about our interior design. The mood and atmosphere created at Twelve was the brainchild of owner Sian. She was committed to creating an opulent feel that wouldn’t be out of place on a rooftop in London, the streets of Paris or tucked into a vineyard in Italy. Read on for insight into what makes the interior work, and see if you can recreate this glittering atmosphere at home.

Lighting

If you’re at all interested in interior design, you’ll know that lighting is everything. At Twelve, white lighting has been banished, leaving only warm, glowing bulbs and flickering candles. The chandeliers are carefully selected, dodging the dangerous silver options and side-stepping an interior faux pas in doing so. The glittering orbs feel like chandeliers of old, dripping in class and exuding warmth. The exterior lighting nods to a more rustic feel, whilst managing to feel like distant relatives of the inside.

Colours

.

With opulence as the brief, the colours needed to feel rich and decadent, and the rich navy blue panelling delivers that in spades. Dusty pink complements the blue beautifully, and is set off by pops of gold in the form of decorations and statement pieces. Buttery leather brings depth and warmth to the palette, bridging the gap between pink and gold. Careful to bring lightness and expansion to an otherwise small space, off white is used in the tables and rugs.

Materials

Rich and varied materials are the unsung heroes at Twelve. Perhaps unnoticed at first glance, key upgrades to materials have made an enormous difference. Tables are marble effect, the ultimate luxury material. The stools are upholstered in supple leather, and the rest of the seating is a subtle velvet. Sadly, the detailing on the wrought iron table legs hides under your food for the evening, but it’s a touch that transports you to the bistros of Paris. Brass bowls and reflective materials catch the light and cast the warm glow further. Finally the addition of an incredibly realistic flower canopy over the outside seating adds the finishing touch.

Twelve is dripping in careful consideration and superb design choices, all made to bring you an evening out that goes above and beyond. We hope this has helped in your interior project at home, and look forward to seeing you at Twelve again soon.
